Big Tent Logo

• The Big Tent will be the place to be for new media journalists, bloggers, reporters, and non-profit leaders covering the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer.

We're creating a 9,000 square foot, two-story structure that will house the work space for journalists, bloggers and new media, a Digg Stage with prominent national leaders, as well as a Google Retreat with a YouTube kiosk where you can make your own YouTube videos. The Big Tent will be open throughout the Democratic National Convention, Aug. 25- 28. http://www.bigtentdenver.org/

Alliance for Sustainable Colorado

When spider webs unite they can tie up a lion

THE MISSION OF THE ALLIANCE IS:

To catalyze the shift to a truly sustainable world by fostering collaboration among nonprofits, businesses, governments, and academia.

Programs of the Alliance include:

  • The Alliance Center – an office building for non-profit tenants and meeting place for collaboration with non-tenants.
  • CASBA – the Colorado Alliance of Sustainable Business Associations
  • Building Colorado Coalition - is promoting high performance buildings throughout Colorado.
  • Educational programs – speakers series; tours of the Alliance Center, which is registered for two LEED certifications; partnerships with universities and colleges for classes
  • Capacity building – workshops and trainings for non-profit staff
  • Collaborative partnerships – including the Apollo Alliance and City of Denver Greenprint Council
  • The long-term goal of the Alliance is to create a national center where sustainability advocates from around the nation will have a place to meet, exchange ideas, learn, and plan.  A capital campaign will be undertaken in 2007 to raise funds for an adjoining building to expand the Alliance Center and open the national center.
